Ledecky breaks world record, wins fourth gold at Pan Pacs
Olympian Katie Ledecky broke the world, American and meet records in the women’s 400m freestyle Saturday at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, turning in a time of 3:58.37. Her swim was one of three gold medals for the Americans on the third night of competition. Also winning gold Michael Phelps in the men’s 100m butterfly and Tyler Clary in the men’s 200m backstroke.

National Team Rookies Learning the Ropes at Pan Pacs
Of the 60 swimmers competing for the United States at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, 20 of them – a full third of the team – are rookies, meaning they are competing with the National “A” Team for the first time. A few of these rookies took time out to talk about what this experience means to them, and what they’ve learned so far.
The U.S. takes home 10 more medals at Pan Pacs
The United States won 10 medals Friday at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, taking home four gold, three silver and three bronze. Winning gold for the U.S. were Jessica Hardy in the women’s 100m breaststroke, Elizabeth Beisel in the women’s 400m IM, and the men’s and women’s 800m free relays.
