WHAT IS USA SWIMMING?
As the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States, USA Swimming is a 400,000-member service organization that promotes the culture of swimming by creating opportunities for swimmers and coaches of all backgrounds to participate and advance in the sport through clubs, events and education.
Our membership is comprised of swimmers from the age group level to the Olympic Team, as well as coaches and volunteers. Members can get involved through our more than 2,800 clubs across the nation.
USA Swimming is also responsible for selecting and training teams for international competition including the Olympic Games, and strives to serve the sport through its core objectives: Build the base, Promote the sport, Achieve competitive success.
WHERE DO I FIT?
USA Swimming's 400,000 members come from every state in the nation, and represent every age group, ethnicity and background. USA Swimming offers member benefits for several groups, including:
Swimmers- USA Swimming Clubs across the nation offer membership for swimmers of all ages. Learn more about the swimming progression.
Coaches- USA Swimming's coaching program certifies coaches, offers valuable training and education and tracks team times and meet entries.
Swim Clubs- USA Swimming has more than 2,800 member clubs across the nation.
Officials - Our volunteer officials are a vital part of the sport. USA Swimming's Officials department offers training, resources and certification tracking for officals.
Parents- USA Swimming aims to support our dedicated Swim Moms and Dads.
Volunteers- The National Governing Body for Swimming could not function without its thousands of dedicated volunteers across the nation.
