USA Swimming Disability Committee Mission Statement
USA Swimming encourages people with disabilities to participate in the sport of swimming and facilitates their inclusion in USA Swimming programs through education and collaboration.
We seek to involve people with disabilities in existing competitions and programs for all swimmers, rather than provide unique disability-only opportunities. Swimmers who prefer disability-only programs should consult the links menu in the “Get Involved” section below. USA Deaf Swimming Seeking Athletes for Deaflympics
USA Deaf Swimming has put out a call to identify talented swimmers who are interested in representing the United States at the 2017 Deaflympics. The Games will take place this summer in Samsun, Turkey from July 18th to July 30th, 2017. The team will be selected based on who has the fastest qualifying times.
USA Deaf Swimming suspects that there are other hard of hearing swimmers out there who haven’t yet been identified by the organization. They ask that deaf and hard of hearing swimmers reach out if they are interested in this opportunity.
To contact USA Deaf Swimming, please send a message to Doug Matchett at this email address: DougMatchett@deafswim.org
