Make the Most of a Swim Year
After a busy summer season, you probably enjoyed a short break from the pool. But now you’re back in the water laying the

foundation for the months of swimming ahead of you. By following these tips and recommendations from current and former National Team athletes and coaches, you can maximize all of your resources for a great 2014-15 swim season.

You’ve Gotta Know the Rules
When rules change, it can be a big mystery shared by many swimmers.  But with a quick look at how rules are made and amended, and taking an active part in learning the rules, that mystery can be solved.

Swimming Strong
In the world of small business, eight out of 10 startups fold within the first 18 months, which gives entrepreneurs a mere 20 percent success rate and a whopping 80 percent fail rate. A recent study conducted by USA Swimming shows the opposite to be true for swim clubs. According to the study, “Business Success Rates for New Clubs: 2004-2012,” an average 80 percent of startup clubs make it past the second year of operation.

2014 Pan

 Pacific Championships
The United States won 40 medals – 14 gold, 12 silver and 14 bronze – Aug. 21-24 at the 2014 Pan Pacific Championships in Gold Coast, Australia. Not only did the U.S. emerge as the top team, but American Katie Ledecky was named female swimmer of the meet after winning five gold medals and setting world records in the 400m and 800m free. As the Aussies might say, it was a cracker of a competition.
