Alumni Social Recap at Men's NCAA's March 26 - Atlanta, GA
The U.S. National Team Alumni Reunion (June 30 - July 3) is our big event for 2016 but we decided that the Men's NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving Championships would be the perfect venue to host our one and only scheduled Alumni Social of 2016.
More than 30 alums attended to enjoy lunch and learn about the USA Swimming Foundation's mission and goals from Board Chair, Bill Maxson and special guest Olympic medalist Elizabeth Beisel!
Thanks to everyone who came out and stay tuned for our 2017 U.S. National Team Alumni Social dates.
Alumni Social Recap - December 12, 2015 - Indianapolis, IN
Mutual of Omaha's Duel in the Pool was the perfect backdrop for our final U.S. National Team Alumni social of 2015. The turnout was robust at the Saturday, December 12th event with 29 U.S. National Alumni and USA Swimming Foundation Trustees meeting for lunch before the Saturday competition session.
Many thanks to our USA Swimming Foundation Ambassador and special guest, Jason Lezak who enthralled us with his stroke-by-stroke account of the 2008 Olympic 4x100 relay anchor where he famously ran down France's Alain Bernard. Jason recounted his surge of adrenaline in those final 15 meters and thought Team USA had lost until he looked up and saw Michael Phelps celebrating on deck. A special thanks to National Team alum Maddie Bromley for helping us connect with Indianapolis area alums!
March 28, 2015 - Iowa City, IA
Olympic Champion and Cal Golden Bear Nathan Adrian headlined our first U.S. National Alumni Social of the season at the 2015 Men's NCAA DI Swimming And Diving Championships.
1996 Olympic gold medalist Ashley Whitney brought her special friend, Afton Wallace, who while battling cancer, was a bright light at the social sharing her own unique swimming experiences with the group. It was Afton's Make a Wish Foundation choice to meet her swimming heroes.
