By making a gift in your will or living trust, you are able to leave a legacy for generations of swimmers. Your charitable bequest allows kids at all levels to experience the wonderful sport of swimming.
Making a charitable bequest is simple, flexible and versatile. All it takes is a few sentences in your will or trust. Your gift can be made as a percentage of your estate, or a specific amount of cash or securities. The following language can be shared with your estate planning attorney:
"I give, devise, and bequeath to the USA Swimming Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation located in Colorado Springs, Colorado - Tax ID 72-1581977:
- The sum of $___________or
- ____percent (____%) of my net residuary estate after the payment of all my debts and taxes; or
- all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate....
to be used for the benefit of the USA Swimming Foundation's areas of greatest need.
If you would like additional information on restricting your bequest for a specific purpose, please contact the USA Swimming Foundation and we will be happy to work with you on wording to accomplish your intentions.
