Membership FAQ
How do I transfer a current membership from one club to another?
contact your LSC Registration/Membership Chair for a transfer form. If the transfer is to a club in a different LSC, contact the Registration/Membership Chair of the new LSC.
Must I be a member of a swim team in order to join USA Swimming? Swimmers can join USA Swimming as Unattached, which means that they are not affiliated with a particular swim team. However, the athlete's insurance will not be in effect unless a USA Swimming coach member is on deck at all times during practice.
What are the requirements for Coach Membership? Coach members must have current safety certifications in First Aid, CPR and Safety Training for Swim Coaches (STSC) or its equivalent. All coaches must also successfully complete a background screen through USA Swimming's background screen provider.
Click here for information on acceptable courses for the safety certifications and instructions for completing a background screen.
First year coaches are also required to complete an educational requirement prior to renewing their second year coach membership.

I joined as an athlete three months ago but I've never received my membership card. Because most athletes join directly through their swim club, membership cards are usually mailed directly to the club. If you would like to have a copy for your own records, contact your Local Swimming Committee Registration Chair.
How can I compete in Masters events? To compete in Masters events, you will have to join U.S. Masters Swimming -
