Olympic Gold Medalist Matt Grevers Serves as Co-Chairman at GLASA Gala
U.S. Olympic gold medalist Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.) will be an honorary co-chairman at the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association Gala event, which runs from 7-11 p.m. CT on Saturday at Fields BMW in Northfield, Ill.
“It was very humbling when I was asked to be an honorary chair for GLASA’s gala red carpet event," said Grevers. "The number of lives they’ve touched is incredible, and I feel fortunate to be part of such a wonderful cause.”
Throughout the evening, Grevers will share how he got into swimming along with the importance of GLASA. The six-time Olympic medalist will also sign autographs and pose for pictures.
Serving alongside Grevers as co-chairman is U.S. Paralympian Alyssa Gialamas. Gialamas is a member of the Paralympic National Swim Team and is a 12-time American record holder. Both Grevers and Gialamas grew up in the Chicago-land area.
“The Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association is so excited to have Matt and Alyssa as the honorary co-chairs for the GLASA Gala,” said GLASA Executive Director and Founder Cindy Housner. “We are so honored to have both Matt and Alyssa supporting GLASA and our mission as they truly exemplify our motto of Let No One Sit on the Sidelines.”
