National Teamers Connor Jaeger and Sean Ryan Set for Motor City Mile Swim Clinic
USA Swimming National Team members Connor Jaeger (Fair Haven, N.J.) and Sean Ryan (Chattanooga, Tenn.) will make an appearance at the Motor City Mile Swim Clinic in Detroit on Wednesday.
The clinic is hosted by the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit at the Boll Family YMCA and will benefit the Detroit Swims initiative. Detroit Swims seeks to teach children in the Metro Detroit region the important of water safety, with a focus on early swim instruction techniques, early safety skills and basic swim strokes.
“I'm really looking forward to the clinic, because community outreach is definitely something we value highly at Michigan,” said Jaeger. “Now that I am a postgraduate swimmer, I am able to give back to the community and grow the sport of swimming in a new way.”
The MCM Swim Clinic will take place at the Detroit Yacht Club from 1-2 p.m., following the Annual Motor City Mile 5-kilometer, one mile and half mile open-water events. The clinic is open to children ages 15 or younger for $30 per swimmer. For registration information, please click here.
Jaeger and Ryan - both University of Michigan alums - will appear alongside four-time Big Ten Swimming Coach of the Year Mike Bottom, who recently concluded his sixth year as a head coach at the University of Michigan.
The event is open to the media.
