The USA Swimming Foundation today announced the addition of six-time Olympic medalist Brendan Hansen to its board of directors.
“Brendan Hansen is a champion in the pool and in life,” said Bill Maxson, USA Swimming Foundation Board chair. “He is a thoughtful, intelligent and committed individual who brings an excellent perspective as well as a true commitment to helping further the USA Swimming Foundation’s mission. I am so pleased to welcome Brendan to the Board.”
“Swimming has meant so much to me, as well as to my family, and I look forward to giving back to the sport that has given so much to me,” said Hansen. “As a new dad-to-be, I am especially excited about the USA Swimming Foundation’s efforts to help kids learn to swim, and I look forward to contributing to the future of my sport at the grassroots and national levels.”
The USA Swimming Foundation’s Board of Directors supports the work of the USA Swimming Foundation by providing mission-based leadership and strategic governance. Among the duties Hansen will assume in his role are: Serving as a policy maker, developing and implementing the Foundation’s strategic plan, participating actively in the Board’s annual evaluation and planning efforts and acting as an ambassador for the organization.
