Have you ever noticed how some athletes are really good at kicking and others fall behind? We’ve taken a look at some of the best kickers in the world to help our National Team athletes improve their current kicking ability.
Here is a comparison video to demonstrate a great kicker vs. a not-so-great kicker:
If you watch closely, you can see that the better and more efficient kicker is using a large knee bend and following all the way through the kick.
The other, not-so-great kicker doesn’t get the lower leg fully extended before the back of the knee pulls up to meet it. In short, the lower leg should fully extend to meet the depth that the upper leg and knee has created before setting up the next kick.
