Catch the FINA World Championships on NBC and Universal Sports


BARCELONA – Led by 17 Olympic gold medalists, including Missy Franklin (Centennial, Colo.) and Ryan Lochte (Daytona Beach, Fla.), the United States is set to open the pool portion of the 2013 FINA World Championships on Sunday at Paulu Sant Jordi.

The action will run daily through Sunday, Aug. 4 with prelims at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. local time.

The U.S. team, which has won the outright medal count at each FINA World Championships since 1991, is captained by Olympic gold medalists Natalie Coughlin (Vallejo, Calif.), Dana Vollmer (Granbury, Texas), Ricky Berens (Charlotte, N.C.) and Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.). Universal Sports and NBC will offer daily television coverage from Barcelona. Swimming coverage begins Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC, with Universal Sports providing daily live coverage from Monday, July 29, through Friday, August 2, at 12 p.m. ET. NBC’s coverage continues Saturday, August 3 from 1-3 p.m. ET and Sunday, August 4 from 4-6 p.m. ET. Calling the action will be Dan Hicks, Rowdy Gaines and Carolyn Manno.
