USA Swimming Staff Out and About

2/27/2014

USAS ShieldBecause USA Swimming is a member-driven organization, the staff is often on the road meeting with coaches, athletes and other stakeholders. Here’s a look at this past week:

Association of Aquatic Professionals Third-Annual Conference
Both the USA Swimming Foundation and USA Swimming presented at the third-annual Aquatic Professionals conference, which ran Feb. 16-17. More than 200 aquatic professionals from across the country gathered in Austin, Texas, to learn the latest technology and programming options in the aquatic industry.

Make a Splash Program Manager Tina Dessart presented “The Ripple Effect of Collective Action,” which challenges aquatics programs and organizations to work together in an effort to change the tide on drowning statistics and water safety in the U.S.

USA Swimming’s Facilities Department hosted a Build-a-Pool Conference. Mick Nelson and Sue Nelson presented “The Safe(r) Way,” outlining potential hazards in water and air quality along with ways to identify and resolve these issues.

The Association of Aquatic Professionals is a membership-based organization with the goal to bring together professionals from all aspects of aquatics to network, educate, advocate, enrich and improve the aquatics industry across the United States and internationally.
