The USA Swimming Foundation is excited to announce the 2013 Gold Medal Swim-a-Thon™ Contest winners!
West Coast Aquatics (Mill Creek, Wash.), Splash Aquatics-Makiki (Honolulu, Hawaii), Mt. Hood Aquatics (Gresham, Ore.) and Katy Aquatics (Katy, Texas) have all been awarded the Gold Medal title in their respective club size categories.
The four winning clubs are being recognized for earning the most points for total Swim-a-Thon™ fundraising dollars raised, and extra bonus points earned between January and November 2013.
Each of the four swim clubs have won a prize package to include: a customized Deck Pass Patch, a feature article in USA Swimming’s Splash magazine and a pizza restaurant gift certificate to host a team celebration party. Additionally, each Gold Medal winner will receive a $200 Visa gift card provided by our online fundraising partner, TeamUnify.
Along with all of the listed prizes, each Gold Medal winner will have their name included in the Grand Prize drawing taking place on Saturday, February 15th. One club will be randomly selected and will win the ultimate prize—a personal visit from Olympic gold medalist Ricky Berens, plus a gift of one year’s worth of license fees from the SwimOffice™ Team Management online platform, provided by TeamUnify.
Congratulations to West Coast Aquatics, Splash Aquatics-Makiki, Mt. Hood Aquatics and Katy Aquatics for earning the 2013 Swim-a-Thon™ Contest Gold Medal title and for winning an epic prize package for your team!
Stay tuned for our Grand Prize winner announcement on Saturday, February 15th.
We are proud to recognize all the top ten teams in each contest category and would like to thank every team who participated in the USA Swimming Foundation’s Swim-a-Thon™ fundraising program in 2013.
Swim-a-Thon™ is the only official pledge-for-length swim program recognized by the USA Swimming Foundation and for the first time in history, the 2013 USA Swimming Foundation’s Swim-a-Thon™ fundraising program surpassed the $5 MILLION DOLLAR mark! Since 1998, Swim-a-Thons™ have generated more than $30 million for swim clubs and swim programs across the country. In order to host a pledge-for-length swimming event, participating organizations agree to sign a contract with the USA Swimming Foundation and donate a nominal fee to the USA Swimming Foundation of 5% of the gross revenue from their Swim-a-Thon™ event. The donation that is paid to the USA Swimming Foundation supports its mission to save lives and build champions—in the pool and in life.
