10/24/2013

USA Swimming National Team member Josh Schneider (Cincinnati, Ohio) will make a hometown appearance at the third-annual José Cerdá Swim Clinic at the Mason Community Center Pool on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. ET. This is the second consecutive year Schneider has attended the event.

"I'm so honored to be participating in this clinic again," said Schneider. "It's so much more meaningful when you work with the ones who were directly affected. This is a great event, and I wouldn't miss it for the world."

The swim clinic will include a film study on starts, turns and stroke technique followed by an in-water training drills with Schneider. He will also do a Q&A about the benefits of swimming before ending his appearance with a photograph and autograph session.

The appearance will end at 6 p.m. ET, and media is welcome.

The José Cerdá Swim Clinic is designed to help pre-college swimmers reach the next level of competition in a combined setting of water instruction and classroom presentations. The clinic is one of the annual events sponsored by José Cerdá Aquatic Foundation, which was established to benefit swimming and water polo teams by improving the competitiveness of their athletes and fostering unity across teams.

Others attending the clinic include: Dan Ketchum, 2004 Olympic gold medalist; Scott Usher, 2004 Olympian; Emily Brunemann, five-time FINA World Cup 10K Open Water champion; David Mosko, semifinalist at 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials; and April Kerly, 2008 Paralympian.

Schneider’s appearance at the José Cerdá Swim Clinic is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity.
