Karlee Bispo and BJ Johnson set to join the Ceres Dolphins’ Swim Clinic
World Championships gold medalist Karlee Bispo (Modesto, Calif.) will make a hometown appearance alongside U.S. National Team member BJ Johnson (Seattle, Wash.) at the Ceres Dolphins’ 2014 Work Hard Dream Big Swim Clinic on Saturday at Downey High School in Modesto, California.
The clinic costs $50 per swimmer and will include a meet and greet with Bispo and Johnson, an event T-shirt and instruction from both athletes. The Ceres Dolphins Swim Club will receive 100 percent of the clinic’s profits.
"Growing up swimming with small club teams, we didn’t have many opportunities to meet and interact with other high-level swimmers, and now we don’t want other developing swimmers to encounter the same problem,” said Johnson. “Now that we have reached a place in our careers we used to only dream about, we look forward to the opportunity to share our experiences with younger swimmers.”
The first session, which will kick off the event at 2 p.m. PDT and end at 4 p.m., is for swimmers ages 8-12. The second session, for swimmers ages 13-18, will begin at 3 p.m. and finish at 5 p.m. Eligible swimmers must be able to swim one lap without touching the bottom of the pool.
“We hope that this clinic will not only teach them something about their swimming technique, but also show them many other ways swimming can change their lives,” said Johnson.
