Fall Regional Coaching Clinics

USA Swimming, in conjunction with the American Swimming Coaches Association and the appropriate LSCs, are presenting very affordable regional coaches clinics throughout the nation. The purpose of these clinics are to bring coaching education to areas that are not frequented by other clinics. USA Swimming's goal is to raise the level of coaching and swimming through educational training programs.

The next two clinics are on the weekend of Novmber 7-9, 2008:

Working with Kids with ADD and ADHD

The revelation during the Olympics that Michael Phelps has dealt all of his life with ADD/ADHD may have been an eye-opener for both parents and coaches. Many will say that swimming appears to be GREAT for ADD kids. You may be seeing more kids with these disorders coming into your program. The following article explains the disorders and gives practical tips for coaches who may not quite know how to handle the ADD or ADHD swimmers.
