Olympic gold medalists Nathan Adrian and Matt Grevers Set for Play Day
U.S. Olympic gold medalists Nathan Adrian (Bremerton, Wash.) and Matt Grevers (Lake Forest, Ill.) will take part in PlayAbility Toys’ Play Date from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. MT on Saturday at Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind.
“It was very humbling when I was asked to take part in the PlayAbility Toys Play Day,” said Adrian. “I know both Matt and I are honored to be a part of such a great cause.”
During the appearance, both Adrian and Grevers will spend time with children at each Play Date station. These stations have toys designed for specific areas of the special needs community. At the end of the event, Adrian and Grevers will talk about the importance of being active and perceiving before ending with a photograph and autograph session.
“Honestly, I’m not sure who’s more excited for the Play Day – us or the kids. It will be a lot of fun,” added Adrian.
Adrian’s appearance for PlayAbility Toys is part of USA Swimming’s Athlete Partnership Program. The program is a platform for National Team swimmer to encourage kids and adults to take up the sport as a healthy and positive activity. These appearances directly promote the sport and the healthy lifestyle it represents. To find more information about how to get started in the sport, visit SwimToday.org.
