The Community Impact Grant is a $5,000 grant, renewable for up to 3 years, and available to USA Swimming club members who are impacting their community via aquatics and competitive swimming. 

All USA Swimming club members are eligible for the grant. If your team is not a currently registered USA Swimming club member, you must register and be approved as a USA Swimming club prior to applying. 

Swim teams who would like to become a USA Swimming Club member can start the process of becoming a club member here. Clubs must be registered members by December 1. 

Priority is given to applications if a swim club identifies with at least one of the criteria below:

• A registered USA Swimming Club that partners with a school, municipality, or other public entity to create new or expand opportunities in communities lacking USA Swimming programming;
• The club is at least 51% women-owned/led;
• The club is at least 51% minority-owned/led; or
• A registered USA Swimming Club that partners with and operates out of a Historically Black College or University.

 

If you do not meet one of the listed criteria, do not feel discouraged to apply. Grants have previously been awarded to club members who did not meet the criteria but demonstrated impact to their community. Clubs are encouraged to apply if they are committed to connecting, collaborating, and impacting their local communities through competitive swimming.

Yes! All USA Swimming club members are eligible and encouraged to apply for the Community Impact Grant. Grants have previously been awarded to clubs who did not fall into the prioritization list but demonstrated positive impact in their communities.

Grant dollars must be utilized directly towards the swimmers or costs towards competitive swimming. 

If you were awarded a Community Impact Grant within the past 3 years, you will receive an email detailing your renewal process. This email is typically sent in mid-September so please stay on the lookout!

 

If it has been over 3 years since you were awarded the Grant or your 3-year renewal term is up, you must reapply for the grant through Survey Monkey. Selection is not guaranteed as we must take into consideration all applications received.  

First, congratulations on being awarded a grant and thank you for the impact you are making in our sport and in your community! Now that you are selected, we will confirm your W-9 and send you a Letter of Agreement (LOA) which must be signed by the club representative. Once the club’s W-9 has been confirmed and we have received your signed LOA, we will mail you the grant funds via check.
