  • Injuries "One training trip my freshman year of UMBC, I broke the accessory navicular bone in my left foot! I had to have surgery on it after NCAA, and was out of the water for three and a half months! I was in a cast for six weeks, then in a non-weight bearing boot for another six, and finally I was able put some pressure on it and walk again! My left foot, calf, and thigh shrunk dramatically in size from all the muscle loss. I worked all summer to gain the muscle back by doing one-legged squats, calf raises, and just balancing!"
