INDIANAPOLIS – Three-time Olympian Nathan Adrian (Bremerton, Wash./California Aquatics) earned his second win in as many nights Friday, tying for the men’s 50-meter freestyle title at the 2017 arena Pro Swim Series at Indianapolis.

Adrian, who won bronze in the event last summer in Rio, touched alongside Russia’s Vladimir Morozov in 22.09 seconds to share the victory and post the second-fastest time in the world this year. Brazil’s Bruno Fratus was third in 22.23. Adrian also won the 100m free title on Thursday.

Other winners on the second night of competition at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI included Great Britain’sJames Guy in the men’s 200m free in 1:47.11 and world record holder Federica Pellegrini of Italy in women’s 200m free in 1:56.07.

China’s Menghui Zhu took the women’s 50m free in 24.97 and Xu Jiayu won the men’s 200 backstroke in 1:55.04. Canada’s Hilary Caldwell touched first in the women’s 200m back in 2:08.68. In the 400 IM, Daiya Seto of Japan took first with a time of 4:10.22, and Great Britain’s Hannah Miley took the win in the women’s race in 4:40.22.

The three-day meet continues through Saturday with daily prelims at 10 a.m. ET followed by finals at 7 p.m.

Saturday’s television coverage from Indianapolis will air on same-day delay on NBC Sports Network at 7:30 p.m. All three finals sessions also will be streamed via NBC Sports, while a live webcast of the entire meet also is available at usaswimming.org.
