In the Fall 2017 issue of Splash Magazine, we ask a handful of National Team athletes – including Nathan Adrian, Caeleb Dressel, Haley Anderson and Becca Mann – about some of the essential items they pack in their swim bags.
Over the last month, we’ve featured some items from USA Swimming sponsors that you might want to consider for your own swim bag as your season gets underway.
Our last item for your swim bag are snorkels. Not every team uses them in training, but if yours does, it’s definitely an item you want to have handy in your bag.
Here’s a look at some offerings from USA Swimming sponsors Arena and Speedo:
Arena Swim Snorkel Pro
Swim Snorkel Pro is the latest version of the more conventional swim snorkel. Designed for more experienced swimmers, it is extremely stable at high speed thanks to its hydrodynamic design.
This feature not only enables you to maintain an effective swimming technique but also an extremely efficient style when performing strength sessions in the water.
It can be combined with Elite Hand Paddles and Powerfin Pros for performing drills aimed at developing your strength in the water.
The Swim Snorkel Pro includes 2 different size snorkel exhaust caps to regulate aerobic conditioning.
Speedo Bullet Head Snorkel
Engineered with the most hydrodynamic features, Speedo’s Bullet Head Snorkel features a minimalist design that promotes excellent stability at high speeds, which makes it ideal for sprinters. It has a padded TPR headband for comfort, eliminating headaches and pinching. Its low-profile shape offers maximum vision and drag reduction. An adjustable head band with notches on tube ensure consistent fitting. The smaller tube opening reduces air flow, improving lung capacity. There’s a removable silicone mouthpiece for easy cleaning.
