COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Many of the nation’s top up-and-coming swimming stars will be in action beginning Wednesday at USA Swimming’s Speedo Winter Junior Championships – East in Knoxville, Tennessee, and Speedo Winter Junior Championships – West in Iowa City, Iowa.

Both meets open Wednesday with a relay-only session at 6 p.m. local time, followed Thursday-Saturday with daily prelims at 9 a.m. and finals at 5 p.m. Complete meet information is available below:

In Knoxville, Tennessee native and National Team member Alex Walsh (Nashville, Tenn./Nashville Aquatic Club) will headline the women’s field with Drew Kibler (Carmel, Ind./Carmel Swim Club) leading the men’s action. Both were key members of the standout U.S. roster at the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships, and several of their teammates from Indianapolis – and nearly 20 members of the National Junior Team – also will be in action at the meet. Others to watch in Knoxville include 2017 FINA World Junior Championships medalists Carson Foster (Montgomery, Ohio/Mason Manta Rays), Trey Freeman (Salt Lake City, Utah/Baylor Swim Club) and Kieran Smith (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield Aquatic Club).

The Iowa City meet will feature 20-plus members of the National Junior Team in the field, as well as three swimmers who represented the U.S. at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest – butterflier Dakota Luther (Austin, Texas/Austin Swim Club) and open water swimmers Simon Lamar (Sonora, Calif./FAST Swim Team) and Cathryn Salladin (Yorba Linda, Calif./FAST Swim Team). National Team member Vanessa Pearl (McKinney, Texas/Metroplex Aquatics) and 2017 junior world champions Zoe Bartel (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins Area Swim Team) and Daniel Roy (Spokane, Wash./King Aquatic Club) also will swim in Iowa City.
