The University of Texas won its fourth consecutive NCAA title Saturday, leading all teams at the NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships with 449 points. The University of California was second with 437.5 points, while Indiana University finished third with 422 points.

Olympian and U.S. National Team member Caeleb Dressel of the University of Florida capped a great meet by setting a meet, NCAA, U.S. Open and American record in the 100-yard free in 39.90, making him the first and only man to break the 40-second barrier in this event.

Led by Olympian and National Teamer Ryan Held, North Carolina State also set meet, NCAA, U.S. Open and American records in the 400 free relay in 2:44.31. Other swimmers on that relay were Justin Ress, Jacob Molacek and Coleman Steward.

Other first-place finishers Saturday included Anton Ipsen of North Carolina State in the 1650 free in 14:24.43; Austin Katz of Texas in the 200 backstroke in 1:37.53; Ian Finnerty of Indiana University in the 200 breast in 1:50.17; and Andreas Vazaios of North Carolina State in the 200 fly in 1:38.60. All winners set pool records.
