COLUMBUS, Ohio – Olympic gold medalist and world champion Lilly King (Evansville, Ind./Indiana University) raced to the women’s 200-meter breaststroke title Friday to highlight night two of the TYR Pro Swim Series at Columbus at Ohio State’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
King led wire to wire and touched in a season-best 2 minutes, 24.83 seconds, ahead of runner-up Annie Lazor (Beverly Hills, Mich./Unattached), who finished in 2:26.55.
“It hurt a lot,” said King. “I was kind of nervous after this morning because I didn’t swim all that well this morning, but I got it together and came back and had my best time this season – I’ll take it.”
