Quotes
Katie Ledecky (on her race tonight): “Tonight I just wanted to race and go for the gold. I knew that the time would take care of itself. I knew I’d be pushed and probably have a good time but didn’t really quite know what the time would be. It’s been a pretty tough week just competing in a different time zone very far from the U.S., a 16-hour time difference. It’s been a lot harder I think than all of us anticipated knowing that we just got here a couple of days ago. I’m really proud of that race and how I’ve competed this week and I have one more race to go.”
Ledecky (on bouncing back from placing third in the 200m free): “It didn’t feel good, the 200, but I’ve been feeling better each session I think. I was really happy with my relay swim last night and I could take a lot of confidence from that … I’m having a lot of fun with my teammates, going through each session and putting together the best races that I can.”

Quotes

Quotes
Kelsi Dahlia (on swimming faster than she did at Nationals): “I was just trying to think of all the positive things I could going into this race. We went through a huge time change and had a great training camp and I know put in a lot of hard work this year and so I knew didn’t go as fast as I could at Nationals and so I wanted to give it my best today and I think that was my second-fastest time ever. I was a little bit faster last year at Worlds, so overall I’m really, really pleased.”
