Legacy Series Project Now Available on USA Swimming University

Want to learn from coaches who have made an undeniable and positive impact on swim coaching and generations of swimmers? USA Swimming is proud to announce the 2024 inaugural class of The Legacy Project: Bob Bowman (SUN), Jim Ellis (PDR), and Kate Lundsten (AQJT).
A Keeping Athletes First initiative, The Legacy Project is a masterclass series featuring individuals who have made significant impacts on the swimming coaches’ community. Their contributions are so remarkable that we don’t want their knowledge and experience lost to future generations. All courses will be available on USA Swimming University and are free for members. Each course is approximately one hour.
“These three coaches have all made significant coaching contributions, both on and off the deck,” said USA Swimming Managing Director of Sport Development Joel Shinofield. “I’m grateful they are willing to share the technical knowledge and interpersonal skills that have made them and their athletes successful. The courses allow USA Swimming coaches at all levels to learn from their experiences and make the same positive impacts in coaching.”
USA Swimming used the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee’s Quality Coaching Framework to guide coaching development resources. In each of their courses, coaches Bowman, Ellis, and Lundsten share their insights and advice on three essential knowledge areas: 1. Training and Performance; 2. Relationships; and 3. Personal Development.
