Officials provide a critical role in any successful swim meet. Top-notch officials are honored throughout the year by two key awards - The Maxwell Excellence Award for service and the Kenneth J. Pettigrew Award.
MAXWELL EXCELLENCE AWARD
Congratulations to the March 2013 recipients, Dick and Lucy Duncan from Indiana Swimming for receiving the Maxwell Excellence Award. Dick and Lucy are a phenomenal duo in the world of officiating. They participate in LSC, USMS and National USA meets, as well as on collegiate decks across the country including NCAA championships. One of their paramount legacies is their passion for educating and enriching those fortunate to work
This award is given every two months to honor an outstanding LSC official for their contributions to local swimming. The award is sponsored by Swimming World magazine and Maxwell Medals.

KENNETH J. PETTIGREW AWARD
The Kenneth J. Pettigrew Award was created to honor Ken Pettigrew, a swimming official who devoted over 30 years to swimming. Each year the recipient is chosen by the Officials’ Committee and the award is presented at the annual convention. John Wilson won the 2009 award.
