Lilly King

AMBASSADOR

Three-time Olympian Lilly King is a passionate supporter of USA Swimming and the USA Swimming Foundation, officially joining the Foundation as an Athlete Ambassador in April 2026. In this role, King uses her platform to inspire young athletes, promote access to the sport, and support the USA Swimming Foundation’s mission to save lives, build champions, and impact communities.

Widely regarded as one of the most dominant breaststrokers in swimming history, King earned six Olympic medals, including three golds, and holds the world record in the 100m breaststroke (LCM).  On the world stage, she captured multiple world titles and podium finishes across the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke events, along with medal-winning relay performances for the United States.

After retiring from competitive swimming following the 2025 World Championships, King remains actively engaged in the sport she loves through swim clinics, public speaking, and advocacy for clean sport. Lilly is married to fellow swimmer James Wells, and together they enjoy life with their two dogs, Pippin and Theo, and their cat, Kiki.

“I’m honored to officially be a USA Swimming Foundation Athlete Ambassador,” King said. “A big reason I’ve stayed involved in the swimming world post-retirement is to inspire and educate the next generation of swimmers, and I can’t wait to see what’s to come.”
