SUVA, Fiji – The United States continued its trend of fast swims at the 2018 Junior Pan Pacific Championships on Friday by earning 12 medals – including gold in seven of eight events contested while establishing four meet records – at the Damodar Aquatic Centre.
Individual meet records and gold medals were claimed by Gretchen Walsh of Nashville Aquatic Club in the women's 100-meter freestyle in 54.47 and Emily Weiss (Cardinal Community Swim Club) in the women’s 100m breaststroke in 1:07.55.
Also earning gold on Friday were Drew Kibler (Carmel Swim Club) in the men's 100m free, Emma Weyant (Sarasota YMCA Sharks) in the women's 400m individual medley and Carson Foster (Mason Manta Rays) in the men's 400m IM. The United States also swept the 800m freestyle relays in meet-record fashion.
