Safe Sport Resources for You and Your Club
by USA Swimming
With April being Child Abuse Prevention month, USA Swimming wants to remind clubs about the USA Swimming Safe Sport resources that are available. All additional information is available at www.usaswimming.org/safesport.
Dealing With a Concern
If there is a concern you may have, USA Swimming and the U.S. Center for Safe Sport have put together step-by-step instructions on how you can report an issue. Click here to view more.
Safe Sport Club Recognition
Become a USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognized Club today! This program allows clubs to demonstrate its commitment with USA Swimming to creating a healthy and positive environment free from abuse for all athletes. In addition, USA Swimming Safe Sport recognized clubs receive a number of benefits and opportunities, such as pop-up tents, virtual visits from U.S. National Team members, grants and more. To learn more about how your club can become USA Swimming Safe Sport recognized, head to www.usaswimming.org/ssrp.
U.S. Center for SafeSport Code
All of our members are subject to the SafeSport Code for the Olympic and Paralympic Movement. Effective April 1, 2021, the U.S. Center for SafeSport has updated the newest version of the SafeSport Code. Please review the SafeSport Code by clicking here.
Virtual Offerings
Each month, USA Swimming’s Safe Sport staff hosts three separate Safe Sport trainings—one for athletes, one for parents and one for coaches—via zoom. Dates and registration links can be found on the Safe Sport training opportunities page: https://www.usaswimming.org/safe-sport/ssrp-training-resources.
Safe Sport Activity Books
The Activity Books are still available! These books are designed to help start and guide USA Swimming Safe Sport conversations between trusted adults and athletes. To purchase books, please visit our purchasing page here. PDF versions for 5-11 year olds and 12-18 year olds are also available to download.
Coaching Boys Into Men and Athlete as Leaders
Last summer, USA Swimming announced two new free programs available for clubs: Coaching Boys Into Men and Athletes as Leaders. The free, digital curriculum cards, as well as additional information on the two programs, can be found on USA Swimming’s Safe Sport Team Talk page here.
