USA Swimming Cancels Early January TYR Pro Swim Series Event in Knoxville
by USA Swimming
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – In an abundance of caution, USA Swimming, the national governing body for the sport of swimming in the United States, announced that it was cancelling its first TYR Pro Swim Series event of the year, originally slated for Knoxville, Tennessee, from January 12-15, 2022.
With the new Olympic quadrennial only just beginning, and the current COVID-19 conditions across the country, USA Swimming, with the support of event host Tennessee Aquatics and Visit Knoxville, made the decision to prioritize the health and safety of the athletes, staff and event volunteers.
The start of the national-level competitive season will move to March and the currently scheduled TYR Pro Swim Series in Des Moines, Iowa.
