USA Swimming today announced the names of 55 up-and-coming athletes selected for its National Diversity Select Camp, scheduled for May 1-4 at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Training Center (USOPC) in Colorado Springs, Colo. “We are excited to welcome this new class of athletes to the National Diversity Select Camp,” said USA Swimming Senior Director of Sport Development Services MJ Truex. “This camp has several notable alumni, including Olympians Natalie Hinds, Torri Huske, Jay Litherland, and Simone Manuel, and we look forward to supporting these rising swimmers to help shape the future of our sport going into the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games and beyond.”
This year, 47 separate clubs from 29 different Local Swimming Committees (LSCs) are represented. Gulf Swimming has the highest number of qualified athletes, with seven. Of the four zones, the Southern Zone has the highest number of athletes attending, with 21.
Each athlete selected for the camp will be provided lodging, meals, airfare, and ground transportation. To qualify, athletes must have achieved at least one National Diversity Select Camp time standard within the qualifying period. To learn more about the selection criteria, please click here.
In addition to a packed camp for athletes, USA Swimming is proud to continue offering a home coach track for coaches. Eligible coaches can accompany their athlete(s) to the camp and take advantage of a separate track consisting of educational opportunities, connections with USA Swimming staff, and networking with other coaches from across the country.
