USA Swimming Prepares to Launch New Version of Mobile App Shaped by Member Feedback
by USA Swimming
USA Swimming will release an updated version of the USA Swimming mobile app in one month, on June 15, following a multi-week beta testing period that incorporated feedback from members across the organization
More than 600 members applied to participate in the beta test, including coaches, officials, parents, athletes, and Local Swimming Committee administrators. Officials and parents made up the largest share of participants, with many identifying as both. The variety in participants allowed the organization to gather feedback from multiple perspectives within the swimming community to ensure the app was built with all members in mind.
Testing Drives Development
Over three weeks of structured testing, participants submitted 649 pieces of feedback, helping guide updates and improvements ahead of launch.
Users logged 703 hours in the app between February and March and generated 11,834 sessions.
Feedback collected during the beta testing period played a central role in refining the app’s design and prioritizing the features included in the mobile app’s release.

“I think you all have made it so much easier to see times for swimmers so much quicker.”
Parent
“Being able to quickly look up my swimmer’s times and see how they are progressing is really valuable.”
Athlete
“It’s interesting to see where swimmers rank and compare performances.”
Official
“Right now, it’s really important for me to show the meet referee that I’m in good standing—having that on my phone is huge.”
General User
“The app feels modern, clean, and much easier to use than before.”
Focus on Usability and Access
The app’s development has been focused on improving access to information and creating a more streamlined experience for members. Members can expect many new and improved features at launch, including:
- Times and Performance Tracking: This feature will allow members to quickly search and view a swimmer’s times, results, and performance history all in one place, and it eliminates the need to navigate to multiple platforms to find data.
- Leaderboards: Members can explore rankings across events and compare performance at a national, zone, LSC, or club level.
- Improved Search: Find swimmers faster with a more flexible and responsive search experience.
- Favorites: This feature allows members to save and access their favorite swimmers for faster lookup of times, results, and rankings.
- Digital Member Card: Members can now access their membership status and certifications instantly from their mobile device.
- Personalized Experience by Role: The update has tailored access and functionality based on whether members are an athlete, parent, coach, or official.
- All-in-One Experience: All of the information members want, such as times, rankings, member information, and search, in a single mobile platform.
