The United States closed out the swimming competition of the Pan American Games Saturday, winning seven medals – four gold, two silver and a bronze.

Alex Walsh and Meghan Small went 1-2 in the women’s 200m IM, turning in times of 2:11.24 and 2:11.36. Both fished almost three seconds ahead of the bronze medalist, Bailey Andison of Canada, who touched in 2:14.14. It was Walsh’s second gold in an individual event after winning the 200m back earlier in the week. She also won gold last night in the women’s 800m free relay.

Will Licon won his second individual event of the meet Saturday, taking the men’s 200m IM in 1:59.13. Caio Pumputis of Brazil was second in 2:00.12 and Leonardo Santos of Brazil was third in 2:00.29. Licon also won the 200m breast on Thursday.

The U.S. completed a completed a clean sweep of the women’s relays, with Phoebe Bacon, Annie Lazor, Kendyl Stewart and Margo Geer winning gold in the women’s 400m medley in 3:57.64. They finished more than four seconds ahead of second-place Canada (4:01.90). Brazil was third in 4:04.96.

Americans Daniel Carr, Nic Fink, Tom Shields and Nathan Adrian finished the night – and the meet – with a gold in the men’s 400m medley relay in 3:30.25. Brazil was second in 3:30.98, while Argentina was third in 3:38.41.

Other medalists for the U.S. Saturday were Becca Mann with a bronze in the women’s 1500m free 16:23.23, and True Sweetser with a silver in the men’s 1500m free in 15:14.24.

The U.S. finished the meet with 44 medals overall – 21 gold, 15 silver and 8 bronze.
