Many of the United States’ top up-and-coming swimmers will be in action at this week’s Speedo Junior National Championships, opening Tuesday at the Nassau County Aquatics Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

The five-day meet runs through Saturday with daily prelims at 9 a.m. ET followed by finals at 6 p.m. ET.

Among the standouts juniors set to compete is Dakota Luther (Austin, Texas/Austin Swim Club), who recently represented the United States in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2017 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Joining Luther in the field are a number of swimmers tuning up to represent Team USA at the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships Aug. 23-28 in Indianapolis. This group includes the likes of current National Team member Eva Merrell (Newport Beach, Calif./Aquazot Swim Club) and 2015 FINA World Championships medalist Reece Whitley (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Penn Charter Aquatic Club).
