2021 18&Under Spring Virtual Championships Wraps with TAC Titans, Sandpipers of Nevada Claiming Top Spots

Editor's note: This article was published on April 29 following the conclusion of the 18&Under Spring Virtual Championships. Due to results that have come in since, Carmel Swim Club now sits atop the final LCM leaderboard with 299.5 points. TAC Titans remains atop the SCY leaderboard.
The new top-5 LCM swims are as follow:
After a near month-long competition, the 2021 18&Under Spring Virtual Championships concluded yesterday, seeing TAC Titans finish atop the short course yard (SCY) leaderboard and Sandpipers of Nevada atop the long course meter (LCM) leaderboard.
The two teams had dominant performances throughout the competition, holding their top spots for the final two weeks of racing. TAC Titans finished with a whopping 263.5 points, a mere half of a point shy of being 100 points ahead of the next-closest club. TAC Titans was powered by U.S. National Team member and emerging 16-year-old Claire Curzan, who posted five of the top-15 swims (based on power points) across all female SCY swims. U.S. National Team and TAC Titan teammate Charloote Hook also joined in the mountain of points for her club, tallying first-place finishes in the 200-yard butterfly and 400y I.M.
Of all the impressive swims across the competition, here are the top-5 SCY performances of this year’s 18&Under Spring Virtual Championships:
Leading Sandpipers to their first-place finish was Katie Grimes, Bella Sims and Paige Kuwata. The trio of U.S. National Team and National Junior Team products finished 1-2-3, respectively, in the 1500-meter freestyle, and would cumulate four event wins between the three of them.
