USA Swimming Announces New Open Water National Team and National Junior Team, presented by Toyota

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
USA Swimming, the National Governing Body of the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced its 2022-23 Open Water U.S. National Team and National Junior Team. A full look at the National Team roster can be found here, while the National Junior Team roster can be found here.  
 
The Open Water National Team will consist of the same 12 swimmers as the previous Open Water National Team, headlined by pool and open water dual threat Katie Grimes (Las Vegas, Nev./Sandpipers of Nevada), whose fifth-place finish in the 10K was the second-best finish ever by an American in FINA Open Water World Championships 10K history.

“USA Swimming is really excited to take this group of National Team and National Junior Team athletes into 2023 as we approach the early stages of the Olympic Qualification Process,” USA Swimming Open Water National Team Director Bryce Elser said. “This group of athletes has already shown an incredible amount of improvement as we navigated our way through the FINA Marathon World Series, World Championships, and World Junior Championships in 2022. The grit required to train for and compete in open water is incredible, and it has been an absolute honor to work with these athletes.”
