2023 Golden Goggles at a Glance: Relay Performance of the Year

The 2023 Golden Goggle Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 19, 2023. With the voting deadline of October 15 quickly approaching, here is the breakdown of the nominees for this year's Relay Performance of the Year award:
4x100m Women's Medley Relay
The women’s 4x100m medley relay of Regan Smith, Lilly King, Gretchen Walsh and Kate Douglass won gold in a time of 3:52.08. They were the only team under 3:53 and extended the U.S.’ win streak in the event to four consecutive world championships titles.
4x100m Men's Medley Relay
The men’s 4x100m medley relay team of Ryan Murphy, Nic Fink, Dare Rose and Jack Alexy won gold in 3:27.20, setting a new World Aquatics Championships meet record in the process.
4x200m Women's Freestyle Relay
The U.S. was represented in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay by Katie Ledecky and a trio of teenagers in Erin Gemmell, Bella Sims and Alex Shackell. The team captured silver in an impressive time of 7:41.38, which is just six tenths off the American record.
