Secretary & General Counsel

Michelle Steinfeld leads the Business Affairs Division at USA Swimming, which includes the Legal, Corporate Governance, Compliance & Audit, Government Affairs, and Human Resources Departments. She also supports the Board of Directors, as well as the Executive, Risk Management, and Safe Sport teams. Prior to joining USA Swimming in 2021, she managed the litigation portfolio for a public oil and gas company, following time at law firms Davis Graham & Stubbs and Covington & Burling LLP. She received her J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from Georgetown University Law Center and an undergraduate degree, magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Vanderbilt University.
