Hall of Fame Coach Don Watson Passes Away

Don Watson, a 2015 International Swimming Hall of Fame Coach, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 21. He was 87. Watson was a contemporary of legendary coach James “Doc” Counsilman, and served as Counsilman’s assistant at Indiana University before branching out on his own in Illinois. He coached Olympic swimmers John Kinsella and John Murphy, and Bob Nieman, a three-time Olympian in Modern Pentathlon.
