USA Swimming Announces Swim-a-Thon Updates

by USA Swimming
USA Swimming member clubs have raised over $2.7 million through 2021 by participating in Swim-a-Thons throughout their local communities. To help teams make the most of their fundraising efforts, the USA Swimming Foundation waived the 5% required donation to the Foundation, helping more than 250 teams and almost 14,000 athletes who participated in a 2021 Swim-a-Thon by keeping 100% of the funds raised. You should be commended for your hard work and perseverance through this difficult time.
As we move into a new year, the USA Swimming Foundation wants to inform all our USA Swimming members of three upcoming changes in 2022.
1. The 5% required contribution to the USA Swimming Foundation will be reinstated. Every dollar raised by clubs goes directly back into club development and success. With your help, we are committed to providing new opportunities for our USA Swimming member athletes and clubs in 2022.
2. Swim-a-Thon resources will be completely digital*. Starting February 1, 2022, the USA Swimming Foundation will not be mailing hard copies of Swim-a-Thon documents. If USA Swimming member clubs want to provide hard copies of documents for its members, they will be available to download on the USA Swimming website Foundation here. USA Swimming and Team Unify will host an educational webinar on hosting your Swim-a-Thon on the platform in March. More details to come.
3. The USA Swimming Foundation will be providing new prizes for Swim-a-Thon participants in the coming months. To view the full list of current available prizes, please visit our website here.
*To receive hard copies of Swim-a-Thon documents up until January 31, 2022, please email swimathon@usaswimming.org.
Thank you to all our USA Swimming member clubs. We look forward to continuing to support you throughout 2022.
