Join the #LaysLayerUp Challenge During the Winter Olympics!

Who says swimming can't be a part of the Winter Olympics?

This February, swimmers are encouraged to take part in the #LaysLayerUp challenge — where athletes try to get their swimming gear on as fast as possible outside in the cold in the best time. Whether it is club versus club or swimmer versus swimmer, it is time to see how fast swimmers can be in the cold outdoors.

How it works:
  • Teammates will start outside (bonus if there is snow on the ground!)
  • Each athlete will start only in a suit, with their pants, jacket, cap, goggles and shoes beside them
  • At the sound of ‘go’ (person filming will start the timer), each athlete will put on their gear as fast as possible
    • It does not matter the order they go in, whatever they think is fastest.
  • The fastest time wins
  • Swimmers and teams can then post the video and time to their social media using #LaysLayerUp
Get outside, film your time and post your videos throughout the month of February. Follow along on the action by searching #LaysLayerUp on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Official rules for the contest can be found here.
