Applications are now open for the 2023 Regional Diversity Select Camps, to be held at three separate locations. Through March 31, athletes can apply to camps based on their geographical location, rather than zone restrictions, which allows the opportunity to meet other swimmers throughout their region.

The three camps will be held during two weekends and at three separate locations:

  •  June 1-4
    • San Jose State University
    • University of Houston
  • June 8-11
    • University of Maryland, Baltimore County
Regional Diversity Select Camps are considered a developmental pipeline for younger athletes from diverse populations. At these camps, athletes will learn how to ignite their swim careers through four quality-led pool workouts and multiple engaging workshop sessions. The goal is to empower athletes to continue to set goals, work hard, excel in swimming, and feel inspired to take ownership of their swimming careers and roles within their community.

Each camp will consist of up to 28 athletes from each competition category. To qualify, athletes must have achieved at least one Regional Diversity Select Camp time standard (AAA National Motivational Time for 11–12-year-olds). Times must have been achieved in a USA Swimming sanctioned or approved competition between September 1, 2021-August 31, 2022. Athletes who are on or have been on any National Select Camps, National Teams, National Junior Teams or USA Swimming international trips are not eligible for this camp.

Athlete lodging and meals will be covered by USA Swimming for the duration of the camp. Swimmers are responsible for their own transportation to and from their selected camp location. Local Swimming Committees (LSCs) and USA Swimming member clubs are encouraged to assist with costs when possible.

In 2022, 86 unique USA Swimming member clubs and 39 LSCs were represented. Read more about last year’s attendees here.
