2023 Golden Goggles at a Glance: Male Race of the Year

The 2023 Golden Goggle Awards are set to take place in Los Angeles on Sunday, November 19, 2023. With the voting deadline of October 15 quickly approaching, here is the breakdown of the nominees for this year's Male Race of the Year award:
Bobby Finke, 1500m Freestyle
Finke’s 14:31.59 earned him silver in a hard-fought race in the men’s 1500m freestyle. The time set a new American record by more than five seconds. Nearly eight seconds now separates Finke and the next-fastest American in event history.
Jack Alexy, 100m Freestyle
From lane eight, Alexy became the second-fastest American in event history with a 47.31. The silver-medal-winning swim was the first international medal of his career.
Ryan Murphy, 100m Backstroke
The decorated veteran picked up the first LCM world title in the 100m backstroke in his career via a 52.22 performance.
