U.S. Closes Open Water Racing at World Aquatics Championships with Fifth-Place Finish
The 2024 World Aquatics Championships concluded its open-water programming Thursday morning in Doha, Qatar, with the 4x1500-meter open water relay. The U.S. team featured Michael Brinegar (Bloomington, Ind./The Swim Team), Charlie Clark (Sandusky, Ohio/Ohio State University), Mariah Denigan (Walton, Ky./Indiana University), and Katie Grimes (Las Vegas, Nev./Sandpipers of Nevada).

Race Notes:
The fifth-place finish is the best result the U.S. has posted in the event at a World Aquatics Championships since 2019.
Denigan led off the relay for the U.S., followed by Grimes, Clark, and Brinegar.
