USA Swimming Names URIN-X Technologies its Trials Pool Sanitation Provider

by USA Swimming
USA Swimming, the National Governing Body for the sport of swimming in the United States, today announced its partnership with URIN-X Technologies, making it the official pool sanitation provider for the upcoming U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Swimming.
URIN-X Technologies specializes in identifying urine traces in chlorinated water through color-changing chemical reactions that turn urine spots bright purple, identifying where a crew of scientists should disinfect the water. The group will provide sanitation crews for Olympic Trials to ensure that each race begins with 100% clean water.
“Unfortunately, peeing in the pool has become a serious distraction in swimming. Pee spots need to be identified and eliminated to provide peace of mind for athletes diving in, and our specialized sanitation crews will look to do just that at Olympic Trials,” said URIN-X’s President James Worthington. “Lucas Oil Stadium will be the greatest swimming venue the sport has ever seen, and urine should have no place in this competition pool. We look forward to offering the first ever urine-free pool the sport has seen.”
After each race, 10 URIN-X scientists will walk out on deck to examine the competition pool. If purpling is present, the team will add specialized chemicals to the water, eliminating the urine traces and returning the pool to its original state.
“Our efforts are scientifically proven to eliminate pool peeing,” Worthington added. “Our motto is, ‘where pee meets purple, our people meet pools.' Our team is the best in the business and spent years peeing in pools themselves to engineer the science we are now known for.”
To allow URIN-X Technologies to operate effectively, 20-minute intervals will be added before each heat in the Trials schedule to accommodate the organic purpling and cleansing process of the competition pool.
