Nation's Top Talents Head to San Antonio for Final TYR Pro Series Before Trials

USA Swimming is wrapping up the 2024 TYR Pro Series in San Antonio this week, with 833 athletes competing from across the U.S. and around the world. The meet will take place at the Northside Swim Center outdoor pool in San Antonio, Texas, from April 10-13.  
 
Let’s take a look at the TYR Pro Swim Series San Antonio by the numbers: 
 
  • 71 current U.S. National Team members  
  • 34 U.S. Olympians  
  • 36 American record holders  
  • 30 National Junior Team members  

National teamers Destin Lasco, Gretchen Walsh, and Luke Hobson are coming off a dominant performance at the NCAA National Championships, where they set multiple American Records. Lasco set American records in the 200-yard backstroke (1:35.37) and 200y IM (1:37.91), while Walsh set American records in the 100y butterfly (47.42), 100y freestyle (44.83), and 50y freestyle (20.37). Hobson clocked a record time of 1:28.81 in the 200y freestyle. 

National Junior Team member Luka Mijatovic holds four 13-14 National Age Group Records in the 500y freestyle, 1000y freestyle, 1650y freestyle, and 400y IM. Mijatovic is currently slated to compete in the 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m freestyles. 
 
The competition begins at 5 p.m. CT Wednesday with the 1500-meter freestyle. Thursday-through-Saturday prelims will begin at 9 a.m. CT, while finals start at 6 p.m. CT.
