USA Swimming, the National Governing Body of swimming in the United States, announced today the names of three coaches who will lead Team USA at two major international competitions during the summer of 2025: the World Aquatics Championships and the World Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships.

Braden Holloway (North Carolina State) has been selected as the Head Coach for the 2025 World Championships team, which will take place in Singapore and feature pool events from July 26-August 3. Holloway has led North Carolina State to national prominence, building a powerhouse program that has produced numerous national champions, World Champions, and Olympians. A seasoned leader with prior experience on Olympic and World Championship staffs, Holloway offers a proven track record in athlete development and a strong commitment to Team USA’s continued international success.

At the 2025 World Junior Championships in Romania, Abi Liu (Bellevue Club Swim Team) will serve as Head Coach for the junior women's team, while Peter Verhoef (Bolles School Sharks) will serve as Head Coach for the junior men’s team. Both Liu and Verhoef have played significant roles in the long-term development of top American swimmers and were selected following their successful leadership at the National Junior Team Performance Camp this past April.

“Braden, Abi, and Peter have all demonstrated the ability to build trust, lead with clarity, and elevate the people around them” said Greg Meehan, National Team Managing Director. “These qualities will serve USA Swimming well as we build momentum towards LA28.”

These coaching appointments align with USA Swimming’s broader strategic vision to support high-potential athletes and staff while preparing for future success at the Olympic level.

Further announcements regarding additional staff and complete athlete rosters will be shared in the coming weeks.
