First Milestone Reached in Keeping Athletes First LSC Incentive

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – As previously announced, the USA Swimming Keeping Athletes First Working Group approved a series of graduated incentives for Local Swimming Committees (LSCs) with certain percentages of clubs within their geographic territories achieving Safe Sport Club Recognition. USA Swimming announced today that 29 LSCs qualified to receive the first level incentive. In each of these LSCs, at least 25% of clubs within their geographic territory have achieved Safe Sport Club Recognition as of May 1, 2021*.
LSCs reaching this first milestone will receive $1,500 and a $200 Match-Up Promotions coupon code. LSCs are strongly encouraged to use incentives for programs directly benefitting athletes (e.g., the athlete travel fund, athlete summits, camps and/or grant programs, etc.) and to purchase USA Swimming Safe Sport-branded items.

*Seasonal USA Swimming Registered Clubs are not required to become Safe Sport Recognized for LSCs to achieve the total percentages and receive the incentives. However, if LSC’s have seasonal clubs that are Safe Sport Recognized, those clubs will count towards the required percentage.
